AMITA means limitless. The AMITA Foundation is the initiative of the Tiburtius family residing in Chennai, Tamilnadu , India . Since the year 2002, the family was involved in various charitable and socially empowering activities in their individual capacity. The devastating tsunami of December 2004 and the resultant social havoc in terms of the number of orphaned children gave rise to a concerted action plan to mobilize a long lasting initiative towards organized care and education of children. Main activity of the Trust is a scholarship scheme which is aimed towards this initiative.
A knowledge dissemination initiative has been organized by the Trustees in the name and style of "SPARK" - Spiritual emPowerment And Renewal through Knowledge.
